Artistic Moral Dilema and things... !

Is it bad that I'm only favoring contest entries that actually follow the given theme? (in reference to the 'Draw Your Dreams' Contest) Lemme explain: The theme is to draw YOUR dreams i.e. GOALS for your life, they even say it in the contest description. And yet, 75% of the entries are like, actual dreams or fantasies. Yes, art is up to everyone's individual interpretation, but, I entered the contest, I followed the theme as provided and it just really bugs me. I think it bugs me mostly because I followed the theme and yet there are currently Top pictures which have NOTHING to do with the actual theme. It also bugs me because, the point of a themed contest is to challenge oneself to portray another artists idea, not draw your idea of what that idea is ('specially when that idea was made EXCEPTIONALLY clear!) I dunno...I don't really care about winning but I wouldn't mind it. But also support those who actually tried really hard to express their dreams and goals instead of just drawing some fairy or nightmare picture. I was really excited to see the entries for the contest because it's like a look inside someones soul. But sadly, people have disappointed me on that end. The plus side is there are TONS of beautiful entries and are deserving of praise, but just not for this contest. I do suggest everyone go take a look at the entries, admire and please vote!!
Aside from that, I'm slowly and randomly drawing things, but school is kickin' my butt and by the time I have free time, I either wanna sleeeeeeeep or mindlessly watch TV. Inspiration comes easily but formulating that into a decent idea and then being motivated without becoming discouraged is the tough part. Being discouraged has become a theme lately. Maybe I should illustrate that, get it outta my system. I have a list of things I really want to draw and/or write, so hopefully I can find the focus power in January when I have no students. My schedule gives me some free afternoons next quarter, so, it seems promising!
Otherwise, I'm doing good. School and work are stressful but they keep me busy so I'm not sitting at home being lazy or moping about. Long distance relationships suck, but it's a learning and growing experience for shore! I hope everyone is doing good, I'm horrible at keeping in touch but I do care! Sooo.... I didn't do any of the projects I had previously laid out because life caught me.
And also, I've been feeling more artistic with words lately rather than drawing so I've been writing some things here and there.
But I have been working on a project. It's my own project and it's been helping me through some rather tough times. It's very very personal and no one will ever see it, at least I don't think anyone will. I will not show it willingly so say the least.
But yes, I hope to get back into drawing during my down time here before next quarter starts and after my girls leave (

Possible Projects?

So recently I've had a constant flow of inspiration (obviously lol) and I have a couple projects in mind. Dare I say them in fear of jinxing myself, but here they are:
4 Month Projects (These have deadlines!)
An illustrated booklet of short stories. I have many ideas and actually most of them are basically just elaborated versions of the tiny descriptions I put with my drawings. I will post the illustrations and they will all be simple ink drawings. As for the written works, maybe. I don't know yet. I'll see how it turns out. Who knows, maybe it might be worthy of publishing. (wishful thinking but one can ponder!) But I want to present them to my students who are leaving for Japan in December. So yes.
A 12-month calendar piece. My friend Caleb requested (more so begged actually haha it was rather amusing) that I make a collection of my artwork for him to hang in his new apartment. The pieces would be a combined collection which would include: ink, watercolor, colored pencil, acrylic(?) & photography (?) for the year 2009. AND it won't be just for him either!! Whom ever (friends to start) wants one, just note me and I'll have a copy made for you I plan on making this look pretty damn professional so the sooner I know that you want one, the easier on my brain it will be

Portraits~! I've been wanting to draw pictures of all my buddehs for a while, but I've been wary because ya know, it's almost impossible to catch someone completely in a picture And I'm OCD like that. 
It has to be perfect. YES.
Music Inspired Pieces. You all know I'm obsessed with music. I have a lot of good ideas for pictures to acompany songs. And I want to do them. YES.
Umm...I don't know. Whatever tickles my creative fancy 
Now, I'm not promising anything. Life gets crazy and YOU ALL KNOW THAT. But I am going to do my best and then some
