"Oh, my lovely metaphorical heart. I'm sorry I have mistreated you so. Each time I pick you up off the floor I fail to notice the scars, the pieces missing, the holes being held together with tape, stitches or staples. You are obviously over-used and yet I cannot stop myself from sending you to the front lines. You still bleed though which means as pathetic as you seem, you still have that fighting spirit which I admire. Please do forgive me but I'm afraid for the time being, all I can do is kiss your wounded, warm flesh to ease the pain until I find a doctor who can fix you up for good, my dear poor optimistic, hopeless romantic heart."
